A Yeast Infection for the 1st Time in my Life

I am a pelvic floor PT in Kentucky and I learned about Neueve at Pelvicon in 2025, and was immediately impressed with their research and products surrounding vaginal moisture; however, I never thought I would need to use it for myself.

Earlier this year, around mid-March, I started dating my current boyfriend and ended up with a yeast infection for the first time in my life after we started becoming intimate (oral and fingering only).

My symptoms started about a week later with some very light, white discharge that I thought could have been my normal ovulation discharge, but something just felt weird.

I had never had any question about my vagina not behaving as expected, so this was a bit of a shock.

I tend to hyperfocus on something when it feels off in my body, so I was fixating on what could be going on for a few days prior to symptoms progressing.

When I started having mild itching (barely noticeable but still off from my normal), I decided to go to the urgent care to get tested before taking anything.

The doctor was confident it was yeast based on my description, and prescribed me Diflucan to start while I waited on the test results.

They came back 2 days later as positive for yeast, negative for BV or trich.

I thought, ok this is good and it has been treated, as my itching and discharge were gone.

The next week, though, after seeing my boyfriend again, I started having very mild itching and a return of the white discharge-still not cottage cheese like the descriptions you always see, but also not like my normal discharge.

I decided to try Monistat this time, but it was messy and the symptoms never got better after this round.

I was starting to get worried that what my boyfriend and I were doing was causing it—luckily he was very supportive and agreed to showering, brushing teeth, and washing hands prior to any intimate contact.

After the itching and discharge came back for a 3rd time,

I completed a telehealth visit through Amazon to get more Diflucan, and was given 2 pills this time, and I took them as directed.

The discharge and very mild itching went away this time for about a week and a half, but came back after seeing my boyfriend again.

At this point, I was beyond frustrated and feeling rather helpless.

I started doing some digging in the research to see if I was missing anything, since I am a pelvic floor PT after all, and this is kind of my realm.

I decided to do a vaginal microbiome test through Daye, and while I was waiting for the test results, did 3 doses of boric acid suppositories, as this is supposedly more natural than the Diflucan.

It did help for about a week, and I was feeling much better about things, but around this time the microbiome test came back.

I found that despite all the Diflucan and boric acid, I still was testing positive for candida, and now had positive ureaplasma, gardnerella (associated with BV), and atopobium!

I freaked out.

I am getting older, and started wondering, is this perimenopause and hormone driven?

Do I need to be worried about my fertility and ability to have more children?

I really went down some rabbit trails trying to figure out the best way to address the particular combination.

Did I need vaginal estrogen (huge proponent and know that this is a good thing, but was really worried about that meaning that I am entering perimenopause) or to take long term Diflucan once per week for 6 months like the literature suggested to stop it?

Reddit had a lot of great information and testimonies, and most women on these forums were saying that Diflucan and boric acid didn’t work for them, even taking it for months on end.

After many days of research and digging, what I found was that I needed to improve my lactobacillus (which was frustrating because I was already regularly using Seed’s vaginal probiotic and had been for over a year) but also address the bad microorganisms.

I started looking into NeuEve's products for yeast, AV, and BV, and was very impressed with what I found.

The research backed up the ingredients, and I definitely wanted to stay as natural as possible and avoid “nuking” my vagina as my GYN stated antibiotics will do.

I thought, this is definitely worth trying compared with multiple antibiotics and toxic ingredients like the boric acid.

Trying NeuEve for Yeast, Ureaplasma and BV

I felt like I was taking control back when I got the products in the mail and started with the Yeast Clear—I used 3 suppositories and the white discharge was gone.

I still had a little bit of thin and clear discharge, which was most likely the ureaplasma.

I thought, this is actually working! I then moved to the AV Clear for the ureaplasma—I took the recommended 9 suppositories for this, then after a 1 day break started the BV clear.

At this point all the discharge and symptoms were gone, but I knew it wasn’t finished yet.

I took 3 doses of BV Clear since I hadn’t had any other treatment for the BV, and I am very happy to report that after multiple weekends with my boyfriend since treatment, have not had any return of symptoms!

I cannot tell you the relief that I felt after each encounter with him and not having any discharge or itching return.

It is such a terrible feeling to worry that every close moment could wreak havoc on my vagina, and it was really starting to affect my mental state and enjoyment of our time together.

Luckily, he is super supportive, and had no issues whatsoever with changes to the routine or my worries about the return, which is a huge blessing.

I will still most likely be paranoid about any discharge that I have for a while, but I feel so much more confident that I have a solution that works, and even if it does come back, I know what to do to treat it naturally.

Using NeuEve for Maintenance

I have since started the 1x per week maintenance dosage of BV clear for the past 2 weeks.

So far, I have not have any further symptoms of itching or discharge, and I’m preparing to take my next microbiome test in the following week to see if everything has cleared.

I did have a minor worry this past weekend trying to distinguish normal ovulation discharge from a return of symptoms, but after the discharge followed my normal ovulation progression from white and kind of clumpy to clear and stretchy, I felt confident it was just ovulation, especially since there was no itching associated with it.

I suspect the infections are all clear at this point due to the lack of any further symptoms!

In Conclusion

It is such a relief to know that there are natural products to help address vaginal dysbiosis and not have all the negative side effects of antibiotics.

I hope that the word can get out about addressing recurrent vaginal infections using NeuEve’s products before more women have to go through all the failed treatments and stress that I went through.

If you are on the fence about trying these products, just do it!

As a side note,

I spoke with my OB/GYN while undergoing treatment, and he was super impressed with the ingredient list and success so far with Neueve’s products.

He even asked for the links to the products. He was impressed with the list of organisms that the AV Clear treated, as well as the support of the lactobacillus bacteria for vaginal health.

As a pelvic floor therapist, I definitely feel NeuEve’s products support a holistic treatment that addresses the dysfunction and supports healing vs nuking everything and hoping for the best.

I recommend these products to all my patients in need of treatment for dysbiosis.

I cannot recommend this company enough!
